Dr. Amro Al Habib is the President, Saudi Association of Neurological Surgery (SANS)

He is also the Associate Professor at College of Medicine, King Saud University and Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal surgeon at Medical City (previously KKUH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has also served as the Member of the scientific committee of the Saudi Board of Neurosurgery, Saudi Commission for health specialties and Member of the examination committee, Member of the Executive Committee of the Saudi Association of Neurological Surgery (SANS), as Head of Informatics committee and Head of Neurosurgery Division, at Department of Surgery, King Saud University

His Clinical Interest includes Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery and Research Interest is Spinal Cord elasticity and relation to normal spinal cord anatomy and disease and Spinal Navigation and improving accuracy of spinal instrumentation.

On 26th April 2017, he won First award in the 16th Annual Surgery Department Research day, College of Medicine, King, Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The award was for the paper “Spinal Cord Elasticity in vivo: Shear wave analysis in Dogs” and  on 30th March 2016 he won Third award in the 15th Annual Surgery Department Research day, College of Medicine, King, Saud University, Riyadh, 30th March 2016. The award was for the paper “Quantification of spinal cord pulsation using intra-operative ultrasound and its Correlation to Cardiovascular Parameters”

He was appointed a demonstrator at King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 1999 and granted a scholarship for neurosurgery and subspecialty training in Canada. This ended August in 2008
